Abstract: This study evaluates the economic viability and productivity benefits of supplementing TANUVAS GRAND to dairy cattle in the Tamil Nadu Irrigated Agriculture Modernization Project (TNIAMP) area. Conducted across 47 sub-basins in Tamil Nadu, the project involved 23,500 lactating cattle and buffalo, focusing on improving dairy productivity through balanced nutritional management. Dairy farmers traditionally used locally available feed resources, leading to imbalanced diets and suboptimal milk yields. TANUVAS GRAND, a patented supplement, was administered over a 90-day period during mid-lactation to assess its impact on milk production, income, and cost-benefit ratios. Results showed a 12.9% increase in milk yield, with daily milk production improving from an average of 5.38 liters pre-supplementation to over 6.09 liters post supplementation. Despite the increased cost due to TANUVAS GRAND supplementation, the overall income per animal increased from ?28.85 to ?43.29 per day, largely driven by enhanced milk productivity. The study concludes that the strategic use of TANUVAS GRAND offers a viable solution to address nutrient deficiencies in traditional feeding practices, contributing to sustainable livestock management and improved farmer livelihoods in the TNIAM project area.
