Abstract: The present study investigates the technology adoption level and profitability of goat production among Sangamneri goat keepers in the Rahuri cluster. Data extracted from the AICRP on Goat Improvement programme indicate that technology adoption varies considerably across farmers, with most belonging to the medium-adoption category. Higher adoption of breeding, healthcare and management technologies significantly improved productivity and profitability. Incremental Cost–Benefit Ratios (ICBR) increased markedly from low to high adopters, confirming that scientific goat farming technologies substantially enhance economic returns. The findings emphasize the importance of targeted interventions and technology dissemination for improving goat farming as a viable livelihood enterprise.
