Abstract: The study was undertaken to analyse the socio-economic status of dairy farmers in Tamil Nadu. Primary data were collected from two districts with the help of a structured interview schedule by personally interviewing the farmers during the year 2022-2023 and chi-square test was used to draw significant conclusions regarding the socioeconomic profile of respondents. Most of the dairy farmers in the study area were small, rearing 2-8 breedable bovine and having average herd size of five animals.
