Abstract:
The study evaluated the two different anaesthetic protocols in dogs for haemato-biochemical parameters and the clinico-physiological parameters viz., heart rate (beats/minute), respiratory rate (breaths/minute), rectal temperature (0F), saturation of oxygen (SpO2) and blood pressure. All the animals were first premedicated with butorphanol and xylazine at the same time. After 15 minutes of preanaesthetic medication, induction and maintenance of anaesthesia was achieved by administration of propofol in Group-I and tiletamine-zolazepam in Group-II. The Haemato-biochemical parameters and the clinico-physiological parameters were measured and evaluated for both groups. All clinico-physiological parameters were within normal limits. Propofol group shows more cardio-pulmonary depression as compared to tiletamine-zolazepam group.
