Psoroptes cuniculi mite infestation is one of the most common parasitic infestations in small ruminants, particularly in goats. Six goats were presented to Veterinary Clinical Complex, Department of Medicine, College of Veterinary Science & A.H., Sardarkrushinagar, Gujarat with a history of itching, licking the affected areas, patches on various parts of body (hair loss) and gradual weight loss. Clinical examination revealed crust formation, scabs or scales, exfoliation of epidermal tissue, itching, alopecia resulting from repeated rubbing of affected area. Microscopic examination of skin scrapings collected from the affected areas confirmed the presence of psoroptes cuniculi mites, thereby establishing a definitive diagnosis of psoroptes mange. Six goats that tested positive were treated with ivermectin administered subcutaneously at a dose of 0.2 mg/kg body weight once a weekly for four weeks, along with supportive therapy consisting of chlorpheniramine maleate, Vit. AD3E, Tribivet syrup, 3D Red syrup, and liver tonic. Five goats achieved complete recovery within six weeks of therapy and one goat was recovered from six weeks.
