Abstract: Fallacious handling of complicated cases of dystocia will often lead to perineal injuries in ewes. Second degree perineal laceration is common obstetrical disorders occurs following unassisted kidding resulted into injuries of vaginal and rectal mucosa followed by laceration inflicted within the lumen.A full term pregnant of Kilakarasal ewe was presented to LAC-OP-OG unit of Veterinary Clinical Complex, Veterinary College and Research Institute, Tirunelveli with history of intermittent straining since last 3 days, and forced traction was applied by farmer which complicated the case. On examination of vulva revealed continued tear of rectal mucosa which leads to accumulation of the dung in to the vaginal cavity. Briefly, the animal was restrained and retropulsion followed by gentle traction, dead male fetus was delivered pervaginally. Following extraction of fetus the fistulous tract was sutured and repaired to restore the perineal anatomical architecture. Animal was treated with parental antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs and fluid therapy for five consecutive days along with application of povidone iodine, tinidazole and sucralfate ointment on suture line and orally animal was fed on tender green fodder, animal had uneventful recovery.
