Abstract: The study was conducted on 14 Surti goats to investigate postpartum parasitic load and FAMACHA scoring in single and twin kid-bearing Surti goats at Livestock Research Station, Kamdhenu University, Navsari. The Surti goats divided into two groups of 7 each based on single or twin births. The goats were housed in a pucca shed with concrete flooring and fed according to ICAR standards (2013). Postpartum parasitic load was measured using the McMaster technique on days 0, 7, 15, 30, 45 and 60. Anemia was assessed using the FAMACHA score card, which compares eyelid mucous membrane color on a scale of 1-5. Data were analyzed using t-tests and DMRT following standard statistical procedures. The results shows that the mean BCS was significantly (p<0.05) higher in singlet bearing (2.21±0.10 vs 2.07±0.07) as compared to twin bearing dams. Higher parasitic load and FAMCHA score was also lower in twin bearing goats as compared to single kid bearing Surti goats. The results revealed that the twin-bearing Surti goats showed lower body condition scores and higher parasitic loads with poorer FAMACHA scores compared to single-bearing goats, indicating greater postpartum stress and health challenges.
