Abstract: Hamartomas are benign developmental anomalies characterised by the disorganised proliferation of mature tissue elements native to the anatomical site, distinguishing them from true neoplastic processes. The present study aimed to characterise the histopathological and epidemiological features of cutaneous hamartomas in dogs. Out of 100 cutaneous masses examined across Kerala, India, five cases (5%) were diagnosed as hamartoma comprising one vascular hamartoma, two follicular hamartomas, and two folliculosebaceous hamartomas. Epidemiological data of the dogs were recorded and discussed. Accurate identification of hamartomas is essential to avoid misdiagnosis as malignant neoplasms and to ensure appropriate clinical management. This study highlights the diversity of hamartomatous lesions in canine skin and underscores the importance of thorough histopathological assessment in veterinary dermatopathology.
