Abstract: This clinical case report details how a 15-day-old Jaffrabadi buffalo calf was treated for toxocariosis. The calf's symptoms were weakness, anorexia, poor development, decreased activity, intermittent diarrhoea, moderate dehydration and a bloated abdomen. Physiological measures, including respiratory rate, pulse rate, and body temperature, were within normal ranges. Toxocariosis was confirmed by faecal examination, which showed the presence of Toxocara vitulorum eggs. Fenbendazole: 30 millilitres of a 1.5% suspension; metronidazole: 15 ml/kg of body weight; pyrantelle pamoate: 25 ml/kg of body weight; Tribivet is given intravenously (1 ml), Dexamethasone is given intravenously (1 ml) and Praziquantel is given orally at a dosage of 0.5%. On the seventh and fourteenth days after therapy, follow-up faecal investigations showed no T. vitulorum eggs, indicating that the infection had successfully resolved. This case emphasises how crucial it is to diagnose buffalo calves with toxocariosis as soon as possible and to treat them with a mix of treatments.
