Abstract: A one and half year old primiparous non-descript bitch weighing 9.5 kg was presented with a history of swollen reddish tubular mass protruding from the vulva along with serosanguineous vaginal discharge. The bitch whelped a week ago to five live puppies and nursing them normally. Upon first whelping all puppies were dead. On clinical examination the animal was dull with pink and moist mucous membranes. It had normal rectal temperature of 102.4°F with mild enlargement of lymph node and tachycardia. The prolapsed mass showed slightly necrotic in nature. Under general anesthesia, reposition of the prolapsed mass was done by gentle traction through midventral abdominal incision with the application of normal saline followed by ovariohysterectomy. The bitch was treated with antibiotics and had an uneventful recovery.
