Abstract: This report describes a case of ocular squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) diagnosed by cytological and histopathological evaluation in a five-year-old male German Shepherd dog presented to the Ophthalmology unit, Surgery, of Madras Veterinary College Teaching Hospital(MVCTH) with a four -month history of a progressively enlarging, non-painful mass on the central cornea of the right eye (OD) and blepharospasm, granulating mass and vision abnormality of the right eye (OD) in ophthalmological examination. Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) of the suspected mass revealed clusters of neoplastic squamous cells with round to oval shaped or pyknotic nuclei along with anisokaryosis and anisocytosis. Histopathological examination of the mass post-surgical removal revealed sheets of neoplastic cells which showed moderate anisocytosis and anisokaryosis and the presence of keratin pearls which were diagnostic of SCC.
