Abstract: Transmissible venereal tumours (TVTs) were diagnosed in 636 dogs based on pathological screening of samples collected from tumour-suspected masses. The highest incidence was recorded in non-descript, Spitz, and Labrador breeds, particularly in male dogs, those in the 1-5 years age group, and in the penile/preputial region, as revealed by breed, sex, age, and location-wise analysis of tumour occurrence. Cytologic examination showed sheets of round cells lacking intercellular connections, with round to oval centrally placed nuclei, multiple prominent nucleoli, and punched-out cytoplasmic vacuoles, along with the presence of mitotic figures. Histopathological examination revealed sheets of pleomorphic histiocytes with round to oval vesicular nuclei, scanty stroma, mitotic figures, and neutrophilic infiltration.
