Abstract: Canine dermatophytosis has a substantial effect on affected dogs, leading to discomfort and a marked reduction in their daily physical and emotional functioning. The study was conducted at the Department of Veterinary Clinical Medicine, Ethics & Jurisprudence, Nagpur Veterinary College, Nagpur from April 2024 to January 2025. The comparative therapeutic efficacy of systemic (Itraconazole), topical (Neem oil) and mixed therapy (Itraconazole and neem oil) was evaluated. The animals showing characteristic clinical signs of canine dermatophytosis were first examined under Wood’s lamp, animals positive under wood’s lamp i.e. apple green fluorescence on the affected areas were approved for further diagnostic protocol viz. direct examination followed by culture in DTM slants and SDA plates. Among all the diagnostic tests, fungal culture on DTM was most accurate and satisfactory.
