Abstract: Sarcoptic mange infectionrnin camels is the second most economically significant disease with zoonoticrnpotential. A four-year-old female camel maintained in a circus was presentedrnwith chronic intense pruritus, itching and thickened, erythematous skin lesionsrnover various parts of the body for the past three months. Parasitologicalrnexamination of the skin scraping revealed the presence of Sarcoptes scabieirnvar. cameli based on morphological characteristics. Considering thernclinical signs and parasitological confirmation, sarcoptic mange in the camelrnwas diagnosed and treated with injectable ivermectin and topical application ofrnbenzyl benzoate and chlorhexidine for two weeks, resulting in completernrecovery. Additionally, the zoonotic risk of sarcoptic mange transmission tornthe animal owner was addressed. This case report emphasizes the importance of earlyrndiagnosis and effective preventive measures to mitigate zoonotic transmissionrnand improve camel health.
