Abstract: An experiment was conducted for a period of sixty days to assess the effect of feeding turmeric residue on growth performance in Malabari kids. Fourteen healthy Malabari kids of six months of age were selected and divided into two groups of seven animals each, as uniformly as possible with regard to age, sex and body weight. They were allotted randomly to two experimental rations. The control group (T1) was fed with complete feed containing 16 per cent CP and 60 per cent TDN, and the T2 group was fed with complete feed containing 10 per cent turmeric residue. All the experimental animals were fed with pelleted complete feed and were fed as per ICAR standard (2013). The average body weight, body weight gain, dry matter intake and FCR were found to be similar in both the groups (p>0.05). The results of the present study indicated that turmeric residue could be included in the kid ration up to 10% level without any adverse effect on their growth performance.
