Abstract: The study was conducted to evaluate hatchability of Mewari chicken and its crosses under intensive system of rearing and their respective values were compared between five genotypes. The fertility per cent in highest (p<0.05) in RNR followed by BNR, BN, Mewari (N) and lowest in RN. The mean hatchability on TES basis was 61.93±0.38, 48.98±2.20, 60.65±0.58, 72.19±0.38 and 73.20±0.50 in Mewari (N), RN, BN, RNR and BNR. The hatchability on TES was significant higher (p<0.05) in BNR followed by RNR, Mewari (N), BN and lowest in RN, while the mean hatchability on FES also reported higher basis was 78.19±0.47, 63.95±1.93, 73.98±0.71, 75.91±0.40 and 83.03±0.57 in Mewari (N), RN, BN, RNR and BNR. The hatchability on FES was significant higher (p<0.05) in BNR followed by Mewari (N), RNR, BN and lowest in RN. It may be concluded for the present study that the growth, reproductive and productive performance of BNR, a dual-purpose chicken variety was found to be better.
