Abstract: The research work entitled “Effect on digestibility of weaned kids of Sirohi goat fed with concentrates and Mungbean straw” was conducted to evaluate the impact of weaning age on nutrient digestibility in Sirohi goat kids. A total of 24 one-month-old kids were randomly allocated into three groups (T₁, T₂, and T₃), with eight kids each, at the goat farm of S.K.N. College of Agriculture, Jobner. The groups were weaned at 60 days (T₁), 75 days (T₂), and 90 days (T₃), respectively. All kids received concentrate supplementation at 1.5% of body weight and Mungbean straw ad libtum throughout the experimental period. Standard management practices were uniformly applied across all groups. The average digestibility of DM was significantly higher in T₁ group than T₂ and T₃ groups. The digestibility of CP was significantly higher (p<0.05) in T₁ group than T₂ and T₃ groups. The digestibility of crude fiber (CF) was significantly higher (p<0.05) in T₁ group than T₂ and T₃. The digestibility of ether extract (EE) was significantly higher (p<0.05) in T₁ group than T₂ and T₃ groups. The digestibility of nitrogen free extract (NFE) was significantly higher (p<0.05) in T₁ group than T₂ and T₃ groups. Across all parameters, digestibility was significantly higher (p<0.05) in group T₁ compared to T₂ and T₃. These results suggest that earlier weaning at 60 days positively influences nutrient digestibility in Sirohi goat kids when fed concentrates and Mungbean straw.
