Abstract: A 13 year old female Indian cat was presented at Sanchu Animal Hospital, Adayar with history of ulcerated growth on the mammary gland with frequent bleeding since few months. Fine needle aspiration smears were prepared from the growth and cytological findings were suggestive of squamous cell carcinoma which revealed clusters of large neoplastic squamous epithelial cells with basophilic cytoplasm. The nuclei were prominent and vesicular in shape containing multiple nucleoli. In addition, anisocytosis, anisokaryosis, mitotic figures and tadpole cells were also noticed. Based on the present laboratory findings, the tumour was identified as squamous cell carcinoma.
