Abstract: A total of 189 dogs were presented to the Veterinary Clinical Complex, Nagpur Veterinary College, and Nagpur with complaints of dysuria, hematuria, pollakiuria, vomiting, and anorexia. Among these, 59 dogs were diagnosed with Escherichia coli infected cystitis, confirmed through ultrasonography, urine culture, and antibiotic sensitivity testing. To further investigate the clinical impact, 30 dogs were randomly selected and grouped under Group Ⅰ, Group Ⅱ, and Group Ⅲ, having 10 animals in each group, respectively. Group I animals were treated with an allopathic drug Antibiotic as per ABST till recovery, and Group II was treated with a homeopathy drug (Cantharis 200 CH @ 6-8 Globules thrice a day for a week.) and Group III herbal drug (Punarnava @ 1 tablet twice a day for dogs > 20kg and 1 tablet once a day for dogs < 20 kg, orally for minimum 2 weeks). The thickness of the urinary bladder was calculated on the following days for all 30 dogs on day 0, day 7th, and day 15th day of post-treatment. This study highlights that all three treatment regimens effectively reduced urinary bladder thickness with significant improvements by Day 15. Group II demonstrated the most pronounced therapeutic outcomes, suggesting superior efficacy. These findings emphasize the importance of timely intervention and provide insights into the comparative effectiveness of different therapeutic strategies for managing bacterial cystitis.
