Management of perianal fistula in a German shepherd dog by combination of cyclosporine-ketoconazole-tacrolimus-a case report

Abstract: A 7-year-old intact male German shepherd dog was presented at Veterinary Clinical Complex, College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, India with the history of straining during defecation, dyschezia, perianal licking, anorexia and progressive weight loss since last month. This Clinical and rectal examinations suggested it to be a case of perianal fistula. Medical management was done by oral administration of cyclosporine with ketoconazole and antimicrobial therapy along with local application of tacrolimus spray. The treatment employed resulted in complete resolution of the fistula within four weeks.
