Successful management of unilateral uterine prolapse in non-descript pregnant cat

Abstract: A case of 3 years old non-descript cat was presented to the Veterinary Clinical Complex, College of Veterinary Science & A.H., Kamdhenu University, Navsari, Gujarat, India, with a history of a protruded mass form the vagina occurred just after delivery of two live and one dead kitten before 24 h. Clinical examination, ultrasonography and radiography confirmed unilateral uterine prolapse, with the contralateral uterine horn containing a dead fetus retained in the abdomen. A caesarean was performed to remove the dead male fetus and placenta from the gravid horn. The prolapsed uterine horn was manually reduced and repositioned intra-abdominally. The cat recovered uneventfully and surgical intervention successfully managed the unilateral uterine prolapse in this pregnant cat.
