Abstract: A three year old female Beagle was referred with a history of delivering one live pup, followed by continued straining and greenish vaginal discharge. Clinical examination led to a diagnosis of secondary uterine inertia. Medical induction was attempted but proved unsuccessful and the case was subsequently managed with a caesarean section. During the mid-ventral celiotomy, peritoneal adhesions involving the visceral organs were observed. Two live puppies were delivered via caesarean section. In this case, the peritoneal adhesions were identified as a significant factor complicating the delivery, likely restricting uterine contractions and impeding fetal passage, thus necessitating surgical intervention.
