Abstract: A seven month old prepubertal non-descript female goat was presented at Veterinary Clinical Complex, College of Veterinary Science & A.H., Kamdhenu University, Navsari, Gujarat, with the complain of abnormal growth in the vulva. The goat was found apparently healthy and having appropriate body growth for the age. On clinical examination of external genitalia, the growth was found as hypertrophied clitoris with prominent vulva. One could see the urethral opening close to the clitoris. A flap of skin protected the clitoris, and the vulva had a tiny aperture and a projecting lower commissure known as a "fish hook vulva". Using a glass rod that was placed into the vagina after being lubricated with ultrasound gel, the length of the vagina was determined to be extremely short and was blindly ended at a distance of 3 cm from the vulva. The growth of the mammary glands was also age appropriate. Two tiny, soft lumps that were thought to be testes were felt subcutaneously in the inguinal area. Hermaphrodism was eventually determined to be the cause of the case. The owner was notified of the congenital defect and its prognosis after the diagnosis was confirmed.
