Abstract: A six-year-old pregnant cross-bred Jersey cow was presented with a history of swelling over the right carpal joint. The animal was housed on a hard cement floor without bedding, predisposing it to repeated trauma and the development of carpal hygroma. Clinical examination revealed localized swelling with pain but no signs of infection. Fluid aspiration and bacteriological analysis confirmed a sterile hygroma. The case was managed conservatively with topical magnesium sulphate and glycerin paste pressure bandaging and intramuscular administration of Inj. Streptopenicillin and Inj. Isoflupredone acetate. The animal showed significant improvement within six days and complete recovery by the eighth day. This case underscores the effectiveness of medical management in pregnant cattle and highlights the importance of proper housing conditions in preventing hygroma.
