Abstract: A five-year-old unilaterally cryptorchid Spitz male dog was presented to Small Animal Gynaecology and Obstetrics unit, Veterinary Clinical Complex, Veterinary College and Research Institute, Namakkal with chief complaint of swelling in the inguinal region near prepuce, anorexia and progressive weight loss. On digital palpation, left unilateral cryptorchid testicle was palpable subcutaneously lateral to penile region while the right testicle descended into scrotum. Ultrasonography examination revealed retained left testes (2.6 cm x 5.1 cm) in subcutaneous region with uniform echogenicity with mediastinum testicle and descended right testes (1.5 cm x 1.9 cm) in scrotum. The cryptorchid and descended testicles were surgically removed under general anaesthesia. Histopathology of left testicle revealed classical seminoma. Postoperatively the dog was treated with antibiotics for 5 days. The animal had an uneventful recovery.
