Uterine prolapse and its successful management in postpartum bitches – Report of six cases

Abstract: The uterine prolapse and its correction in six postpartum bitches. The prolapsed uterus washed with antiseptic solution (1 per cent potassium permanganate solution) and manual repositioned inside pelvic cavity followed by intramuscular administration of Xylazine (0.5mg/kg), applications of ice packs and pop in spray. After long-term follow-up therapy with Oxytocin (5 IU), antibiotic (Ceftriaxone 10mg/kg), anti-inflammatory (Flunixin meglumine 1 mg/kg) the study reported that the bitches were healthy with no evidence of recurrence.
