Marketing of Deoni cattle in Latur district

Abstract: Latur district serves as a key hub for the trade of Deoni cattle, which are highly valued for their dual-purpose utility and milk production and draught work. To improve Deoni cattle marketing in Latur district it was necessary to undertake the study. Ten cattle markets from Latur district were selected i.e. Ahmadpur, Jalkot, Udgir, Deoni, Murud, Ausa, Latur, Renapur, Hali-Handarguli and Nalegaon ans data collect randomly by simple interview method after making seven visits to each market. Majority of large and medium group of land holders were involved in the sell and purchase of bullocks and their bullocks because of financial and fodder problems. Majorly sellers and buyers need of broker for negotiating prices and searching the costomers. Majority of sellers and purchasers make deal through broker following by direct channel. In all markets of Latur district sellers and purchasers experienced middleman was the major problem in marketing of Deoni cattle.
