Abstract: Sub clinical endometritis (SCE) is the foremost cause of conception failure leading to reproductive culling in an organized dairy farm. The SCE affected endometrium was usually characterized by persistent endometrial PMN paving way for exaggerated inflammation and causing severe endometrial epithelial damage. Analysing the persistent endometrial PMN would enlightens the clinicians for grading the severity of SCE and helps to devise appropriate therapeutic protocol. Our study envisaged to evaluate the endometrial PMN in SCE and cows in standing estrus. It was observed from our study that the cows affected with SCE had highly reactive endometrial PMN of about 80% and 10% positivity in SCE negative group. These changes in the endometrial PMN was due to an increased oxidative stress in the PMN cell leading to malfunction release of abnormal pattern of cytokine leading to severe endometrial damage.
