Abstract: A clinical study on the prevalence of Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis (MAP) was carried out in an organized private dairy farm, near Jaipur, Rajasthan state. This dairy farm having a total population of 65 dairy animals, experienced scattered mortality among Holstein-Friesian (HF) cows and 8 Holstein-Friesian cows were died within a period of one year. On record verification the day book showed declined milk yield in majority of the dairy cows. The other recorded information were weight loss and enteritis. A detailed investigation was carried to rule out the reasons for low milk yield. Out of 65 animals, 40 Holstein Friesian cows were subjected to Single intradermal test and rectal pinch acid-fast method of staining and hematological parameters. Out of 40 cows screened, 22 Holstein Friesian cows were found positives for Ziel-Neelsen’s staining and by Single intradermal (SID) tests. The hematologyrevealed significant decreases in red blood cells, white blood cells, haemoglobin concentration, and MCH level. Based on these studies the farm authorities were informed to evacuate and clear all farm animals from the infected premises and to leave the farm premises without farm activities for a period of one year and to perform all biosecurity measures as per Office International Des eipzooties guidelines and to restock the dairy animals after screening for major diseases as stipulated by World Organization for Animal Health.
