Abstract: Global milk production is estimated to reach 930 million tonnes in 2022. According to BAHS 2022, milk production in India totaled to 221.06 million tonnes. Kerala is one of the major consumers of milk as well as milk products. The present study attempts to document the factors influencing consumption of milk and milk products and consumer preference of the source of purchase. Nutritional quality had the biggest influence on purchase of milk, curd, yoghurt and paneer and taste was the influencing factor for purchase of ice cream, ghee, cheese and butter. Also, the consumers highly preferred to purchase the products from super markets, followed by farmer’s outlet, retail stores and co-operative stores.
