Abstract: Being a highly contagious virus canine parvo virus (CPV) infection leads to higher rates of morbidity and mortality in young puppies. 50 fecal samples were collected from diseased puppies suggestive of parvoviral gastroenteritis (PVGE) with the clinical signs such as anorexia, vomiting, foul smelling hemorrhagic diarrhoea and lethargy. PCR was conducted to confirm the CPV antigen in the fecal samples collected from the suspected puppies. The virus mainly invades rapidly dividing cells and leads to multiorgan damage. CPV causes inflammatory, hemorrhagic, degenerative and necrotic changes in the visceral organs of the affected puppies.
