Abstract: The mammary gland exhibits significant histological variations across different domestic animal species, influenced by physiological states such as lactation, pregnancy, and involution. This review summarizes key findings from various studies, delving into the structural and functional adaptations of the mammary gland in cattle, goats, sheep, camels, and other domestic animals. We explore how these adaptations support milk production and how they change during different physiological phases.
