Study of replacement of concentrate feed with jackfruit waste in dairy cow ration

Abstract: All agricultural products are having edible and non-edible portions. Ever increasing human population has resulted in shrinkage of agricultural land for cultivation of feed to the livestock and food to the human beings. This situation/ scenario have forced to search for utilizing the agricultural byproducts and value addition of the same to meet out the requirement of both human and livestock needs. This experiment was designed to evaluate the effect of Jackfruit waste as feed to dairy animals. Inclusion of jackfruit waste into dairy animal ration increased the milk yield and other pertinent quality factors. Further, this has increased the profitability of the farmer in terms of quantity produced and quality produced. Results showed significant positive increase in the production parameters namely milk yield (9.03+1.65 L), Total solids (13.76+2.49), SNF (8.83+1.612), Fat (4.83+0.882), Lactometer reading (27.83+5.08) and Cost/Ltr (Rs. 29.6+5.4).
