Abstract: Vasculitis is a general term that is used to describe inflammation of the blood vessel walls. It is a histopathological reaction pattern that signals the presence of inflammatory cells in blood vessels and is an immunologic response (i.e. type III hypersensitivity disorder) that results in damage to vascular components of the dermis or subcutaneous tissue. This study was aimed at diagnosis, treatment and management of cutaneous vasculitis in dogs. A total of 5 dogs were presented with the signs of cutaneous vasculitis such as alopecia, erosion and pruritus at the pinnal margin. Physical examination, skin scrapings, CBC, serum biochemistry and impression cytology were done to rule out other skin diseases. Treatment was done with oral Prednisolone @ 1mg/kg BW twice daily for 7 days and then tapered, topical application of tacrolimus ointment and oral administration of 200mg of vitamin E capsule. All the dogs showed clinical improvement during and after therapy. High doses of immunosuppressive medications like corticosteroids, tacrolimus are recommended once infectious diseases have been ruled out along with supportive and symptomatic therapy.
