Multimodal anaesthetic and surgical approach for treatment and correction of aural hematoma in a dog: Case report

Abstract: This case was presented in the OPD- TVCC of C.V.Sc and A.H, Selesih with history of unilateral swelling and itching of ear, anorexia, tilting of head, mild fever in a 3+ year old male dog. Based on clinical sign and symptoms the case was diagnosed as aural hematoma and surgical approach was indicated for correction. To perform surgery a multimodal anaesthetic protocol was performed including glycopyrrolate, etomidate, propofol and isoflurane. Vital cardiopulmonary parameters are monitored during anaesthesia and surgery. Pre-operative Heamato-biochemical parameters are also analyzed. A large and thick volume of blood was removed from the aural hematoma sac by performing successful operation.
