The first study to identify rotavirus in Iraqi wild boar by using RT-PCR technique

Abstract: Molecular rotavirus in wild boar is the first investigated study in Iraq. This virus is considered one of the most important viruses in its activity which causing gastroenteritis with the severe diarrhea in all animals which lead to high rates of mortality which recorded. 24 samples were collected from ileal region to all ages of wild boar after killing by hunters; the samples were collected from the same site from December 2018 until April 2019. The results revealed a positive of 4 samples (16.6%) out of 24 samples, the highest rate of infection was observed in January in 2 samples (8.3%). While in February and March were 1 sample (4.1%) and 1 sample (4.1%) respectively. Though in December there is no infection was recorded. All samples were obtained via using electrophoresis to the RT-PCR.
